Job duties and responsibilities
data modeling, pipelines & engineering (core focus)
* design, build, and maintain sql‑based data models and transformations using dbt (data build tool) as the primary development framework.
* develop scalable, well‑tested data pipelines integrating sap, logistics systems, planning tools, and external sources.
* implement data quality tests, documentation, and version control practices consistent with modern analytics engineering standards.
* ensure semantic consistency, reproducibility, and strong governance across data domains (inventory, demand, supply, logistics, procurement).
ai, data science & predictive analytics
* build and maintain ai‑driven forecasting, inventory optimization, and supply‑risk detection models.
* apply data science techniques (regression, clustering, anomaly detection, statistical modeling) to identify process inefficiencies and cost‑saving opportunities.
* develop predictive insights on demand variability, supplier performance, logistics constraints, and inventory exposure.
* support ai adoption across plants by training users, interpreting model recommendations, and validating accuracy of automated signals.
working capital & cost optimization
* analyze inventory levels, safety stock models, lead times, and cycle stock to reduce working capital without compromising customer service.
* identify excess, obsolete, and slow moving inventory drivers and propose data backed reduction strategies.
* support cost reduction initiatives by analyzing transportation cost trends, supply routes, moq impacts, and supplier delivery patterns.
* create scenario based models to evaluate the cost impact of forecast shifts, production changes, sourcing decisions, or logistics contingencies.
* monitor working capital kpis and provide actionable insights to mp&l and finance.
supply chain operations & analytics
* conduct deep dive analysis into material flow, capacity constraints, and mrp exceptions using sap data.
* develop real time dashboards and exception reports to improve visibility and streamline decision making.
* partner with planners, schedulers, mp&l managers, and operations leaders to translate insights into executable actions.
* support new product launches, engineering changes, and supply readiness activities using data driven assessments.
* participate in continuous improvement projects focusing on parameter optimization, scheduling accuracy, and inventory efficiency.
education and qualifications
* bachelor’s degree required; mba or cpim/cscp preferred
* minimum of 2-5 years of experience in supply chain, materials management, logistics, operations research, or analytics.
* powerbi
* strong problem‑solving skills with focus on cost, working capital, and operational optimization.
* experience with ai concepts, predictive modeling, or statistical analysis is highly desirable.
* sap experience (mm/pp required; familiarity with mrp logic, bom structures, and inventory transactions preferred)
* understanding of both the automotive and commercial vehicle industry preferred.
* possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills and must be capable of professionally interacting with global manufacturing plants.
* skilled in composing written correspondence and preparing presentations for senior management.
* successfully interacts with a dispersed leadership team and others across functions and sites.
* must be proactive, detail oriented and have excellent organization, planning and follow‑through skills.
* committed to tasks and skilled at identifying and solving a variety of problems of broad scope and complexity with little to no supervision.
* must be able to work flexible hours.
* travel required 20% +
skills and competencies
* ability to interact with all levels of the organization, from production associates to senior leaders.
* ability to function as a team player and be comfortable leading without direction.
* ability to build credibility and trust.
* ability to influence leaders and change their paradigm.
* must be proficient with the use of the microsoft office suite (outlook, word, excel, powerpoint, and visio) and other mrp and erp software.
* apics, six sigma and/or lean certification a plus.
