Essential duties and responsibilities
applies substantial understanding of the job, knowledge, and skill to complete a wide range of tasks. Receives little work instruction on daily work and general instructions on newly introduced assignments.
Troubleshoots to determine problems in non-functioning electro-mechanical equipment used in the manufacturing process.
Dismantles, adjusts, repairs, and assembles equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, operating or repair manuals, rough sketches, or drawings/schematics.
Uses test and diagnostic equipment to perform checkouts.
Rebuilds manufacturing equipment as required.
Performs scheduled preventive maintenance and documents maintenance activities as per program guidelines.
Calibrates equipment using general and specialized test equipment.
Communicates with equipment suppliers regarding repairs.
Maintains data to support process improvement initiatives.
Assists in developing work procedures and sourcing equipment parts as needed.
Maintains and stores backup information for critical production equipment software systems.
Provides recommendations for new or replacement equipment.
Trains employees in machinery operation when required.
May work overtime or be on-call.
Follows all company security procedures.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Job qualifications

Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in english, including technical support communication.
Extensive experience troubleshooting electro-mechanical equipment in manufacturing environments.
Proficiency with hand tools, leveling instruments, and test/calibration equipment.
Ability to troubleshoot failures detectable at the io level.
Basic mathematics skills.
May require forklift certification.
Understanding of electronic color codes and component value markings.
Knowledge of safety practices and procedures.
Proficiency with maintenance tracking programs and personal computer applications (excel, word, powerpoint, email).
Education & experience requirements
associates degree in electronics with emphasis on servo positioning theory or an equivalent discipline.
Five to eight years of experience working with electro-mechanical equipment in manufacturing.
Or an equivalent combination of education, training, or experience.
