The weight process and tools lead is responsible for documenting weight related processes, developing training materials and to help drive implementation of tools that increase efficiency.
daily activities include but are not limited to the following:
- lead creation of system and process documentation for tool development, training, weight applications and to provide engineering & marketing support
- develop training for weight team new hires
- improve processes and tools where applicable
- increase engineering efficiencies
- increase weight fidelity tracking
- support vwms application rewrite
- support replacement of notes vwrs system
- write requirements for replacement of pdb system
- document fuel economy label process and tools
- manage process and tools for marketing publication of weight data
- support na global weight meetings and assignments
- coordinate activities with the weight lab
*requirements*:
basic qualifications:
- bachelor's degree in engineering from an abet accredited university.
- 5+ years of relevant automotive product development experience.
- knowledge of the overall program development life cycle
- strong proficiency in microsoft computer software (word, excel, powerpoint, etc).
- experience in process and tools development
preferred qualifications:
- prior experience in weight engineering
- knowledge of vehicle demand energy analysis or fuel economy
- prior work experience with chrysler, fca or stellantis engineering
- strong communicator both (verbal & written)
- ability to create and deliver presentation material to senior management
- comfortable challenging others using data to support a position
- good at leading teams with ability to influence and motivate others into action
- ability to develop project plans and work under timing constraints
- self-motivated, works with limited supervision, able to multi-task and prioritize workload
- proficient at conducting analysis and formulating recommendations
- ability to work in a team, build good working relationships and gain consensus
