• designs and documents fixtures, tooling and equipment using cad.
• identifies opportunities for modular/universal solutions to cover the needs of multiple processes.
• works with machinists both internal and external to improve manufacturability of designs.
• responsible for managing the ordering, receiving, and assembling of machined parts.
• follows up the designs release to the system through the change order process.
• ensures designs are machined to specification and produce expected results.
• documents designs fully such that they can be easily replicated.
• devises and implements cost reduction/process improvement programs.
• assists in document validation results of fixtures, tooling, equipment implemented.
minimum requirements:
1. bachelor’s degree
2. experience in high volume production mechanical fixture design
3. experience in process automation, verification and validation
4. knowledgeable of robotics/mechatronics and plc systems
5. cswp (certified solidworks professional)
6. proficiency in working on manual and/or cnc mills and lathes
7. sme in selection of materials for tools, fixtures, and jigs for specific applications
8. familiar with fabrication equipment and their limitations/capabilities (cnc mills/lathes, laser/water jet cutting, presses)
9. experienced with inspection tools.
10. excellent technical writing abilities.
11. excellent conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
12. excellent computer skills - cad, word processing, and spreadsheets.
13. ability to be part of a team and adept in building and leading teams.
