Job summary
the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing plant costing, scrap management, and variance analysis with a focus on ems product costing.
they will lead the financial planning and analysis (fp&a) function, preparing financial projections, profitability models, business scenarios, and translating numbers into strategic decisions for management.
the ideal candidate will drive the budgeting process, ensuring tracking, control, variance explanation, and alignment between planned vs. actual performance.
they will manage capex/opex control, including evaluation, planning, and monitoring of investments in machinery, equipment, new production lines, and technology.
additionally, they will prepare financial statements and reports under ifrs standards.
key responsibilities include ensuring compliance with sox requirements, internal controls, process documentation, testing, and audit support.
the role also involves overseeing cash flow management and forecasting, ensuring liquidity and proper control of inflows (collections) and outflows (payments).
supervising ap/ar processes, including invoicing, collections, supplier payments, and reconciliations is also essential.
managing the procure-to-pay (p2p) cycle: requisition of materials, purchase orders, goods receipt, and supplier payment.
ensuring compliance with tax, vat filing, imss, and audit requirements, as well as leveraging programs like immex for fiscal benefits.
collaborating with operations on process improvements, cost optimization, and financial support for business decisions.
leading a small finance team and coordinating with cross-functional areas (operations, supply chain, commercial, hr).
reporting locally to the plant manager and functionally to the finance director in asia.
utilizing sap s/4hana for finance, accounting, cost control, p2p, inventory management, and financial reporting.
requirements
* bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics, or related field (mba or professional certifications such as cpa, cma, or cfa highly desirable)
* 6+ years of progressive experience leading finance and accounting teams within manufacturing environments
* proven expertise in financial planning, budgeting, cost control, and compliance with ifrs and sox standards
* advanced proficiency in microsoft excel (financial modeling, data analysis, automation) and experience with sap s/4hana or equivalent erp systems
* strong leadership skills with a track record of managing and developing high-performing finance teams
* excellent analytical, problem-solving, and process improvement capabilities with a focus on efficiency and business impact
* advanced english communication skills, both written and spoken, with the ability to interact effectively with global stakeholders
