position summary:
the alumni engagement manager develops programs, events, and relationships to enhance skyhawk alumni involvement and pride in fort lewis college (flc). They build, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive plan to maintain and grow alumni connections, driving volunteer engagement and giving that supports flc’s strategic priorities. They collaborate with campus partners and the advancement team to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward alumni giving and recruit and manage alumni involvement in mentoring, volunteering, and communication efforts.

* plan and support the implementation of relevant programs that align with the flc 2030 s trategic p lan .
* plan and oversee the execution of alumni communications, events, and fundraising efforts in collaboration with the advancement team and campus partners.
* actively engage alumni through strategic travel, demonstrating a passion for building connections and fostering a strong alumni network across diverse locations.
* provide strategic guidance and thought leadership to support the engagement and events coordinator in planning and executing alumni-focused events- locally, regionally, and nationally.
* provide strategic vision and help develop regular communication with alumni through multiple channels in partnership with the coordinator of outreach & donor relations .
* collaborate with the director of outreach & donor engagement to support, coalesce, and champion the efforts of the engagement & events coordinator, coordinator of outreach & donor relations, and student ambassadors for the office of advancement.
* collaborate with regional organizations and flc’s office of career & workforce to promote alumni owned businesses and connect alumni with opportunities to support student career development and workforce recruitment .
* serve as a leader and face of alumni engagement at events and gatherings throughout the year and additionally, as a conne ctor and networker for philanthropic opportunities.
advocacy and volunteer engagement 2 0 %
* establish, build, and steward relationships with alumni, community members, campus partners, and volunteer s to advance flc’s mission and ensure successful engagement experi ences that result in service, giving, and advocacy.
* develop and support a formalized alumni engagement volunteer effort t hat foster s meaningful connections and build s social capital for students through mentorship and other strategies .
* lead the flc native american alumni chapter strategic planning and volunteer efforts - this includes maintaining bylaws, supporting volunteer management, strategic planning, reporting, and facilitation among other duties.
fundraising 25%
* support the vp of advancement and office of advancement in flc’s first comprehensive fundraising campaign.
* collaborate with the director of outreach & donor engagement to lead multi-channel annual giving campaigns and collaborate on efforts within their office to increase alumni giving.
* manage a fundraising portfolio of 20 - 3 0 alumni leadership, major gift donors, and prospective donors .
* develop fundraising campaigns and solicit ation strategies for programs like springboard fellowship, homecoming and field day, and the alumni scholarship .
administration 15 %
* provide budgetary oversigh t and accountability for the alumni engagemen t program.
* develop annual strategic and operating plans with measurable goals in line with the flc 2030 strategic plan and flc’s office of advancement strategic plan.
* develop and oversee alumni volunteer engagement policies and procedures .
* collaborat e with marketing & communications on flc alumni branded materials and giveaways .
* develop and d irect engagement performance metrics and reporting, in collaboration with the manager of advancement services .
* utilize alumni and donor database system for tracking meaningful engagements, events, communications, and fundraising.

required education, specialized skills, and experience:
* bachelor’s degree and 3 + years of relevant professional experience, preferably in volunteer management, event planning, fundraising or the equivalent combination of experience ;
* a minimum of 2 years of demonstrated track record ofprojectmanagement and leadership, as well as a progressive level of responsibility with a fast-paced organization;

* experience in fostering productive relationships with diverse volunteer communities and developing volunteerleadership;

* extensive experience in a higher education setting;
