Overview The Fraud Risk Officer (FRO) will join the Global Anti-Fraud & Digital Forensics (AFDF) team within Group Internal Audit (GIA) of A.P. Møller-Maersk. The AFDF team operates independently and reports to the Audit Committee. The FRO conducts fraud investigations and collaborates with stakeholders across the APMM Group. The FRO will report to the AFDF team anchored in GIA in Copenhagen, Denmark and will act as a trusted advisor on anti-fraud matters to regional leadership, and as the main point of contact for regional anti-fraud activities.
Key responsibilities Coordinate and lead globally assigned fraud cases, managing the full investigation cycle from initial contact with reporters through to case conclusion, including planning, fact assessment, documentation review, interviews, reporting and presenting findings and recommendations to regional stakeholders.
Scope potential forensic assignments in collaboration with the AFDF team.
Work with specialized forensic software such as Nuix Investigator platform.
Use and manage APMM’s global whistleblower system.
Provide inputs to GIA's annual fraud investigation/awareness plan, KPIs and ongoing initiatives.
Document and review the adequacy of internal control systems.
Provide input and prepare material for the APMM Audit Committee.
Liaise with external service providers and with governments/public authorities.
Collaborate closely with the global AFDF team on fraud-related matters.
Conduct fraud awareness training across APMM.
Identify fraud risks and advise relevant business units on remediation and action points.
Provide input to policies and procedures (e.g., Conflict of Interest and Gift Policies).
Qualifications & Experience Full professional proficiency in Spanish and English is required; Portuguese is highly desirable.
Excellent communication and ability to present complex matters clearly to stakeholders to secure buy-in.
Strong interpersonal skills to build trustworthy relationships with interviewees, management, colleagues, externals, etc.
Demonstrate assertiveness and resilience, including in challenging situations.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
Ability to take ownership of designated areas and supervise others.
High level of collaboration, often in cross-cultural teams.
Acting as a trusted advisor and business enabler, delivering valuable impact to the business.
Strong analytical skills and ability to evaluate large data sets.
Strong organizational and time management skills, driving tasks to completion.
Sensitivity to the needs, concerns, and feelings of others; curious by nature and approachable.
Education requirements (at a minimum) Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Law, Accounting, Audit, Economics, Finance, Law Enforcement, Compliance, or related areas).
Certifications such as CIA, CFE are a plus.
Experience requirements (at a minimum) At least 5 years’ experience in a larger corporate entity, consulting, or government agency.
Experience in shipping, logistics, transport and service is advantageous but not required.
Solid IT skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office and Power BI are advantageous.
Familiarity with forensic software (e.g., Nuix, Relativity, Cellebrite or similar) and data analytics tools (Power BI, QlikView) is an advantage but not required.
The role can be based in Panama or Mexico and will require approximately 30 annual travel days, depending on case load and activities.
