Job summary
the technical sector lead will serve as a senior technical authority responsible for radio product and continuous improvement across the full product lifecycle—from new product introduction (npi) to high‑volume manufacturing. This role provides expert‑level rf technical support, leads complex failure analysis, and defines advanced rf test methodologies to ensure robust product performance, test yield, and production efficiency. The position requires close collaboration with r&d, npi/tpi teams, manufacturing sites and repair centers.
essential duties & responsibilities
* lead a multidisciplinary engineering team (product, test, quality, manufacturing eng.).
* act as senior technical owner for radio product (lte/nr). Provide technical expertise to global production sites (mainly mexico, india, china), repair centers, and npi/tpi programs.
* drive continuous improvement for test time, yield, defects.
* optimize production test solutions (hw & sw), ensuring correctness, accuracy, cost efficiency.
* lead high‑complexity failure analysis for manufacturing issues, customer returns (rma), to identify root causes and drive corrective actions.
* demonstrate technical expertise aligned with customer expectations, serving as a trusted technical authority for rf radio production topics.
* collaborate closely with customer r&d on hot issues, investigation. And provide technical proposals to r&d.
* provide strong technical leadership and mentorship to rf engineers, promoting a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous capability growth. Support local jabil site (guadalajara) to elevate rf technical capabilities by close collaboration with site teams.
* potentially support npi execution at jabil factories and future product technical maintenance activities as business needs.
* collaborate with quality and change management for component verification (changes in bom, spot buys, etc.).
* may perform additional technical duties and responsibilities as assigned.

* typically reports to management. Direct supervisor job title(s) typically include: engineering director/manager; engineering services director/manager.
* job can be responsible for managing other employees (e.g., hiring/termination and/or pay decisions, performance management).
job qualifications
knowledge requirements
* deep understanding of rf design, wireless communication principles, uplink/downlink chains.
* strong expertise on 4g/5g telecom systems, including rf kpi significance and measurement methodologies.
* expert‑level proficiency with rf measurement instruments: spectrum/signal analyzers, vector network analyzers, signal generators, power meters.
* familiarity with test automation and analysis tools.
* experience with python, matlab, labview, vee, c# is a plus.
* strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills.
* demonstrated innovation mindset and ability to drive technical improvements.
education & experience requirements
* bachelor's or master's degree in telecommunications, electronics, electrical, microwave engineering, or related discipline.
* minimum 15 years of progressive experience in rf engineering, ideally covering rf design, test development.
* hands‑on experience with rf product design or testing in areas such as transceivers, power amplifiers, antennas, filters.
* experience supporting npi/tpi programs and working in high‑volume manufacturing environments.
* global collaboration experience is a plus.
* excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills in english and spanish, with leadership presence in cross‑functional environment.
