we are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of
*control framework analyst*
*role purpose*
the financial crime detection (fcd) team is involved in providing best-in-class analytical solutions to the financial crime (fc) function used across latin america lines of businesses and countries which are adhered not only to a number of internal frameworks, policies and controls but also governed by local regulations. The team caters to both strategy and operations aspect of managing financial crime across lam.
the assistant manager, lam fcd control framework role holder is part of lam financial crime detection team and is responsible for supporting team to be able to implement and comply all requirements stated in the financial crime risk model risk, and non-financial risk (nfr) frameworks. The role performs activities mainly related with reporting, governance management, documentation peer review, inventory maintenance, etc.
the role holder will support the lam regional head of financial crime detection in the oversight and engagement with the region for the compliance of the abovementioned frameworks for ensuring that strong management is embedded, enabling safe growth
*main activities*
- support the lam regional head of financial crime detection (fcd) with their responsibilities for ensuring the adherence to hsbc internal policy, specifically for financial crime, model risk and non-financial risks frameworks across their region.
- lead the implementation of the new model risk policy for the local models across the region.
- support the lam fc team to comply with model user responsibilities associated to global models.
- management and secretariat of the local forum such as the lam fc model oversight forum, fc tm and ram working groups and lam fc management meeting.
- support the creation of reports and papers to be presented in external committees for which the lam fc is member of.
- act as project manager to lead the lam fcd team in the implementation of different programs requested by the lam model risk management function.
- sustained and effective management of non-financial risks, compliance, and conduct responsibilities
- ensure that locally developed tools are adhered to the applicable financial crime, model risk and non-financial risk policies, procedures, regulations, and local addendums.
- provide global model inventory system (gmis) management, maintenance, and user engagement, along with report production and technology enhancement for all live models
requirements
- comprehensive knowledge of model risk, financial crime risk and non-financial risk.
- detailed knowledge of reporting tools, office package and communication software's.
- detailed knowledge of internal procedures and local regulations and those of other country regulators.
- experience with managing formal committees and forums.
- experience creating reports and papers to be presented to senior managers.
- experience in validating the completeness and compliance of different documents to policy and regulatory requirements.
- advanced level of english language (writing, reading, and speaking)
- general knowledge of regulatory environments
- understanding of financial crime tools and systems
- operational excellence mindset
- managing the fc reporting process for multiple countries.
- promoting standardization and simplification as well as best practice sharing across teams to raise overall organization effectiveness
