Unlock your potential in a supportive environment. What You’ll Do Build new features for the REST API and data processing engine using TypeScript and Python/Spark, and deploy on AWS. Work alongside senior developers, architects, and QA to implement new features and enhancements. Mentor junior developers and perform code reviews to maintain a high‑quality codebase. Improve the performance and scalability of our platform. Automate deployments and CI/CD pipelines using Infrastructure‑as‑Code technologies such as Terraform and Serverless Framework. What You Bring 5 years of software development experience focused on backend development. Proficiency in at least one backend language (preferably Python and/or TypeScript). Familiarity with AWS services (EC2, EKS, S3, Lambda, RDS, Step Functions, DDB, etc.). Experience with large data processing and application scalability using tools like Apache Spark and Kubernetes. Strong problem‑solving skills and a passion for clean, maintainable code. English communication skills and ability to work effectively in cross‑functional teams. B2 level English or higher is required. Get Started – First 30 Days Get to know the team, set up your development environment, provision your AWS infrastructure, and acclimate to our remote work routine. Dive into our tech stack, code, development workflow, and CI/CD systems. Fix minor bugs and assist in resolving client issues to familiarize yourself with the codebase. Make your first pull request and participate in pull request reviews. Build Momentum – First 60 Days Take ownership of a small feature or module and complete its implementation. Support senior developers and participate in more complex feature development. Collaborate with QA and your team lead to plan feature deployment. Present your work in a demo session to QA and product management. Assist in resolving a client production issue or feature request. Hit Your Stride – First 90 Days Take full ownership of a feature or module and ensure its deployment to production. Grasp how critical parts of the application work and troubleshoot defects with minimal assistance. Contribute actively to team discussions on architecture, design, and implementation strategies. Reflect on your contributions and onboarding, providing actionable feedback for process improvement. Note Candidates selected for this position will be hired directly by Varicent. The role requires alignment with Eastern Standard Time (EST) business hours. Candidates outside EST should be prepared to adjust working hours accordingly.
