We are looking for an experienced dba manager to lead our database administration team and oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of robust systems using sql server and aurora postgresql. This role requires strong technical expertise in traditional on-premise deployments with high availability (ha) configurations, as well as cloud solutions using aws rds and aws no-sql engines such as opensearch, dynamodb, and redis. The ideal candidate will be strategic with leadership skills and a passion for optimizing database performance, reliability, and scalability.

1. Lead and guide the dba team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
2. Design, implement, and maintain highly available database architectures for sql server and aurora postgresql.
3. Manage database deployments both on-premises and in cloud environments, especially aws rds and nosql storages.
4. Ensure the security, integrity, and compliance of databases with industry standards and internal policies.
5. Monitor and optimize database performance, storage, and backup strategies.
6. Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and security development teams to support business initiatives.
7. Architectural collaboration: work closely with software architects and developers to design scalable data models and schemas that align with microservice design patterns
8. Automation: drive the automation of database management tasks, including provisioning, scaling, and maintenance, using infrastructure as code (iac) principles.
9. Develop and enforce database standards, policies, and procedures.
10. Plan and execute upgrades, migrations, and disaster recovery strategies.
11. Technical leadership: act as the subject matter expert for all database-related technologies, providing guidance and mentorship to the engineering team.
12. Stay up-to-date with emerging database technologies and recommend improvements.
