schedule: full‑time
responsibilities
* diagnose and resolve database performance, capacity, replication, and t‑sql issues.
* proactively monitor databases for errors and troubleshoot ongoing issues in all cai environments dev/qa/prod.
* maintain and monitor systems on‑prem or in aws/azure.
* coordinate and schedule database downtimes to perform patching, upgrades, and other maintenance procedures.
* define backup and recovery strategies using netapp snapshots, snapcenter/snapmanager, idera sqlsafe, or native sql server backup/recovery tools.
* perform advanced database administration activities, including performance tuning, t‑sql tuning, backup/recovery, and disaster recovery solutions.
* create and update cai database documentation about standard procedures, database technology features, or production issue troubleshooting.
* stay current with changes in the technical area of expertise.
* support highly available production systems using database mirroring, log shipping, windows/sql clustering, and availability groups.
* work with development teams to deploy code in production when needed.
* participate in on‑call rotations.
qualifications
* bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
* excellent problem‑solving and analytical skills.
* strong communication and collaboration abilities.
* ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* working knowledge of linux and shell scripting.
* experience configuring database network connectivity.
* understanding of database backup and recovery techniques using rman and network appliance filers.
* experience with high‑volume websites that use multi‑tier architectures is a significant plus.
* understanding or experience using oracle real application clusters and implementation best‑practices.
* experience with oracle database technologies.
* prior experience writing pl/sql triggers and procedures.
* experience with database sql and database tuning.
* experience with oracle goldengate.
* experience developing ansible playbooks is a plus.
* experience supporting database infrastructure in the cloud (oci, aws, azure).
* ability to analyze existing systems and make recommendations on technology best suited for high availability, disaster recovery, or high performance.
* experience setting up and managing oem 13c.
