Key responsibilities
chef role
you will be responsible for preparing ingredients, including portioning, chopping and storing food. This includes washing and peeling fresh fruits and vegetables, weighing, measuring and mixing ingredients.
cooking standards
you will prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards and a food preparation checklist.
equipment operation
you will operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers safely and efficiently.
quality control
you will test foods to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently and monitor food quality while preparing food.
safety and security
you will follow all company policies and procedures and report any maintenance needs, accidents, injuries or unsafe work conditions to your manager.
training and certification
you will complete safety training and certifications as required by the company.
requirements
chef qualifications
* strong culinary skills and knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques.
* ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
* excellent communication and teamwork skills.
* ability to lift heavy objects and stand for long periods of time.
education and certifications
* culinary degree or equivalent experience.
