quality technician / metrology (afternoon shift)
this is a hands-on position that works on the manufacturing floor and in the quality lab to support quality inspection requirements in support of the company's quality system.
functions:
- performs quality test, inspection and verification of:
incoming material.
outside vendor-processed material.
in-process production parts.
finished products
new products (npis)
- uses a variety of measurement tools for inspection, including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, optical comparators, etc.
- maintains necessary quality certification records.
- assist with resolution of corrective and preventive actions.
- assists with ppaps, apqp, fmeas and control plans and tracks progress through the approval process.
- conducts internal and external audits as assigned by the quality manager or qms coordinator.
- communicates frequently with production, engineering, purchasing and customer service regarding quality issues and updates.
- coordinates and monitors metrology tool calibration and verification program for internal and customer provided tools and fixtures.
*requirements*:
- 5+ years of experience in quality inspection, working with metal formed parts, preferably for the automotive industry.
- live close to the work area.
- english (mandatory)
