the universidad de córdoba invites applications for a fully funded phd position in synthetic biology as part of the c5 project, supported by the european innovation council pathfinder program. The project focuses on the development of innovative solar-to-x technology, aiming to convert sunlight, water, and co₂ into valuable chemicals and fuels using engineered cyanobacteria. The successful candidate will join an international consortium including charité (berlin), universiteit leiden, wageningen university, and sme insociety.
requirements
– msc degree in biochemistry, biotechnology, bioengineering, chemistry, biology, or a related field
– experience in genetic modification of microorganisms, preferably cyanobacteria
– background in synthetic biology is highly desirable
– ability to conduct experiments independently and work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team
– strong organizational and project management skills, with a proactive approach
– demonstrated enthusiasm for scientific research and innovation
– excellent communication skills in english (spanish is not required)
