Job summary:
the demand planning manager is responsible for leading the demand planning process for all distribution channels in mexico, ensuring accurate sales forecasts and alignment with business objectives. This role oversees the monthly forecasting cycle, leads the s&op process, and coordinates cross-functional efforts to align supply with demand. The demand planning manager works closely with sales, marketing, finance, inbound logistics, and warehouse teams to optimize inventory levels, maximize product availability, and achieve a 100% fill rate while maintaining operational efficiency.
Key responsibilities:
develop and maintain accurate sales forecasts for all distribution channels, including retail, e-commerce, and wholesale accounts.
Lead and prepare the monthly sales & operations planning (s&op) meetings, ensuring cross-functional alignment between demand, supply, and financial plans.
Monitor and adjust forecasts based on sales trends, promotional activities, seasonality, and market intelligence.
Ensure product arrivals are aligned as closely as possible with the monthly demand plan to avoid stockouts or excess inventory.
Coordinate logistics planning between inbound and warehouse teams to support efficient product flow and inventory availability.
Drive initiatives to achieve and sustain a 100% fill rate across all key customers and channels.
Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to incorporate new product launches, promotions, and phase-outs into the demand plan.
Analyze forecast accuracy and implement continuous improvement actions to enhance planning performance.
Manage inventory levels to balance service levels, working capital, and obsolescence risk.
Classify and catalogue products according to business needs, supporting segmentation strategies and portfolio management.
Prepare and present demand planning reports and kpis to senior leadership.
Qualifications & skills:
bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business administration, industrial engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in demand planning, forecasting, or supply chain management, preferably within the toy industry or consumer goods sector.
Strong understanding of forecasting methodologies, s&op processes, and inventory management principles.
Experience managing multi-channel demand planning environments.
Advanced analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis tools (excel, erp systems, demand planning software).
Strong leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
Fluency in spanish and english, both written and spoken.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, seasonal business environment.
Preferred qualifications:
experience in the toy industry or highly seasonal consumer products.
Knowledge of statistical forecasting tools and demand planning systems.
Experience implementing or improving s&op processes.
