a security officer patrols, monitors, and observes security procedures to ensure a safe guest and member experience while investigating theft and managing instances of undesirable behaviour.
what will i be doing?
as a security officer, you are responsible for monitoring and controlling staff entrances, patrolling regularly, and managing undesirable behaviour to ensure safety. Responsibilities include investigating theft, supporting evacuation procedures, and performing the following tasks:
* monitor and control staff entrances
* conduct searches of staff bags and report discrepancies
* control the goods pass-out procedure for items purchased or loaned
* maintain systems for contractor monitoring in line with health and safety policies
* check goods received out of hours
* record departmental keys issuance and receipt
* operate, check, and monitor cctv systems
* patrol the hotel regularly, ensuring fire walks are conducted and recorded
* ensure safe passage of cash transfers within the hotel
* support hotel evacuation during fire alarms
* monitor suspicious packages and be aware of bomb and terror threat procedures
* provide secure storage for guest oversized items
* ensure hotel facilities and function rooms are secure and locked when not in use
* maintain the security log book and incident reports
* investigate and report theft, criminal damage, and other incidents
* manage undesirable behaviour professionally, intervening and defusing altercations
* liaise with police if needed
* report maintenance or hazard issues to the supervisor
* adhere to all health and safety regulations
what are we looking for?
to succeed as a security officer at hilton, you should embody the following qualities:
* high school diploma or above
* good physical condition
* at least two years of law enforcement or military security experience
* knowledge of fire procedures, disaster plans, bomb threats, and hotel evacuation procedures
* familiarity with local laws and regulations
* absolute discretion and confidentiality
* sia trained and licensed
* good grooming standards
* ability to work under pressure and remain calm in emergencies
* ability to work independently or in teams
preferred additional capabilities include:
* experience in customer service
* first aid certification
* knowledge of p.a.c.e.
