position: cost control analyst sr.
primary purpose of the position:
the analyst reports directly to the cost control manager and is responsible for performing cost accounting closing, inventory, and budget control. Supports the factory in cost matters and serves as technical support for accounting policies and procedures. Interacts with internal and external auditors, other external advisors, and various areas within the organization.
principle duties and responsibilities:
1. prepare reconciliation accounts, analyze differences, and support documentation in accordance with company policies.
2. register journal entries during the month and in the month-end closing process.
3. perform month-end closing activities to ensure accurate financial reporting in line with regional and corporate deadlines.
4. determine final costs and support all company areas with required information timely.
5. prepare information and analysis requested by auditors and for special projects and cost studies.
6. calculate standard costs, prepare cost reports, manufacturing indicators, control plant budgets, and ensure proper cost allocation and physical inventory support.
7. prepare cost estimates and annual operation plans (aop).
8. build organizational capability through training and promote innovative process, system, and business improvements.
9. perform internal and sox controls, assess control design, and ensure proper execution.
10. analyze surplus and obsolete inventory, including raw materials, wip, finished goods, and spare parts.
11. control daily reception and shipment of materials, ensuring proper documentation and follow-up on exceptions.
12. lead the repaired spare parts management committee.
13. support capital expenditure tracking, ensuring compliance with financial policies.
14. analyze scrap and rework costs, working closely with operations to recognize waste properly.
15. manage waste in the waste management warehouse, coordinate removal schedules, and evaluate kpis.
16. participate in plant optimization initiatives, identify cost-saving opportunities, and control transit inventory aging.
education:
* required: undergraduate degree in accounting.
* desired: cpa and/or mba or advanced degree.
experience:
* minimum of 5 years in accounting, project accounting, or auditing, preferably in large firms or manufacturing companies.
* experience consolidating data from multiple locations, domestic or international.
* strong analytical skills and ability to understand complex data.
knowledge:
* knowledge of mx gaap and u.s. Gaap.
* proficiency in english (speaking, reading, listening) at 50% activity level.
