Reporting to the sr quality engineer, this role involves implementing and maintaining quality engineering programs, standards and improvements within the organization, and leading npi process validations.
responsibilities
* supplier selection – select a suitable supplier with joint effort of sourcing on quality, capability, pricing, delivery, environment, society regulation versus customer requirements.
* supplier qualification – implement new supplier qualification through capability matching, supplier risk assessment, supplier self‑assessment, onsite qualification audit, and qualification database management.
* vea (value‑added engineering activity) – understand customer drawing and specifications to provide value‑added engineering proposals to customer and supplier for optimization of supplier manufacturing process.
* material (component) qualification – implement ppap (fai) including fai, material certificates, quality/process control plan, fmea, msa, process parameter sheet, rohs compliance, reliability test, coc, etc.
* pilot run tracking – track new qualified parts quality performance to ensure meet customer quality requirements in pilot run phase.
* drive supplier corrective action from supplier in pilot runs and smoothly transfer the pilot run to mass production.
qualifications & experience
* ba/bs or equivalent work experience.
