we are seeking a senior manager, labor & employment counsel to join our legal and enterprise supplier management (esm) team in mexico city.

you will partner with world-class professionals to bring legal advice, strategies, and efficient problem solving to business units.
you will work closely with internal business resources, hr and recruiting stakeholders, legal and others across the enterprise to ensure that capital one mexico remains in full compliance of employment law.

key responsibilities of the senior manager, labor & employment counsel role include:
- legal advisory: provide expert advice on employment law issues, including hiring practices, employment contracts, terminations, benefits, workplace policies, and employee relations.
- compliance management: ensure the company's compliance with local, regional, and international employment laws and regulations.
- contract support and review: draft, review, and negotiate employment agreements, consultancy contracts, and other related legal documents.
- dispute resolution: manage employment disputes and litigation, coordinating with external counsel as necessary.
- policy development: develop and update internal policies and procedures to reflect current legal requirements and best practices.
- training and guidance: provide training and guidance to hr and management teams on employment law matters and legal compliance.
- regulatory monitoring: stay abreast of changes in employment legislation and advise on potential impacts to the company.
- subcontracting: advise on unique mexican subcontracting regulations.
- collaboration: work closely with cross-functional teams, including hr, compliance, and recruitment, to support business objectives.
note: limited travel may be required.
basic qualifications:
- juris doctorate (licenciatura en derecho).
- 5-7 years of experience advising international companies doing business in mexico on labor and employment.
