the advanced supplier quality engineer manages the apqp for external suppliers with the support of the program buyer and the d&d product/product design, overseeing the development of supplier qcd performance for a defined list of suppliers. He/she supports the series buyers to organize, follow-up, and ensure the quality systems and performance of critical suppliers.
the main missions of the role are:
* apqp management during development phases
* deploy apqp related to the development phase of purchased parts
* define the risk and suppliers to be followed
* insure that suppliers sourced respect mandatory rules and audit criteria
* get feasibility commitment sign‑off for sourcing and for change implementation
* define supplier apqp plan with objectives, risk assessment, critical suppliers, critical parts, key milestones, deliverables, and ppap planning, resources & supports needs
* update every month the supplier apqp plan
* participate at design review meeting and ecr meeting
* facilitate exchanges between functions and suppliers for design freeze convergence
* escalate alerts to program and management. Support suppliers for 8d completion
* train the suppliers and ensure that the defined standards are properly applied (apqp elements)
* follow the apqp progress with status report
* use lessons learned from prior programs as input to snc
* manage the process qualification at supplier (control plan & quality basics implementation)
* conduct fpt & mpt and process audit for high and medium risk components
* get from suppliers their control record (e.g., raw material certification) for all parts
* ppap construction:
o responsible for ppap construction and new parts approval during development phase
o coordinate with sqa production trial runs on new parts during development phase
o ensure that 100% of sr parts will be validated at gr3
* transition to series:
o ensure that all documentation is updated
o 100% of sr characteristics secured
o ensure that incoming inspection instructions integrate control means according to the supplier's control
ideal candidate qualifications
* minimum education level: bachelor degree in engineering
* experience: minimum 3 years experience in industry in lean manufacturing
