Overview
this position will lead implementation of safety & environmental programs, policies, management systems and strategies in support of all manufacturing and distribution facilities
responsibilities
oversees professional employees/teams ormanages non-professional employees
day-to-day operations of a group of employees.
Limited budgetary responsibility and contributes to budgetary impact;
interpret and execute policies for departments/projects and develops.
Recommend and implement new policies or modifications to existing policies.
Provide general guidelines and parameters for staff functioning.
Hiring staff, recommend pay increases, perform performance reviews, training and development of staff, estimate personnel needs, assign work, meet completion dates, interpret and ensure consistent application of organizational policies.
Incident reduction.
Provide direction to facilities on all ehs issues and regulatory concern by reviewing and updating written safety and health programs.
Identify, assess and reduce environmental risks and financial costs. Prepare environmental reports.
Raise awareness of the impact of emerging environmental issues (whether legislative or best practice) on corporate, ethical and social responsibility.
Audit and report on environmental performance to internal and external clients and regulatory bodies. Perform and direct ehs, iso 14001 and process safety management audits.
Conduct ehs and specific regulatory training for all applicable employees.
Responsible for leading the processes previously designed by management related to the mkos occupational health committee.
Ensure compliance with medical services indicators at the campus level.
Qualifications
at least 5 years of experience applying and implementing environmental, health & safety programs
