lead an operative work team in an industrial environment, supervise activities to meet safety, quality, cost, and delivery standards, and ensure compliance with cooper standard bto procedures and systems like iatf or iso.
essential duties and responsibilities
* ensure all associates have support from the security team and follow established security procedures.
* conduct daily supervisory walk-throughs to identify potential unsafe conditions.
* review personnel certifications daily to ensure abilities align with the polyvalence matrix.
* update payroll daily, monitor attendance, overtime, absences, vacations, permissions, and disabilities.
* lead daily start-up meetings as per routine.
* supervise production quality to meet standards and customer requirements; have authority to halt processes if quality is at risk.
* perform timely quality and safety audits.
* manage operator certification processes, including training and multifunctional capabilities.
* supervise spc system implementation, data documentation, and analysis.
* verify spc certification for direct floor associates.
* instruct operators on proper form completion.
* ensure adherence to quality and efficiency standards, supervise evaluations, and oversee correct record-keeping.
* allocate human resources and materials efficiently to meet delivery goals.
* oversee production execution to achieve productivity and bts targets.
* participate in emergency evacuation drills and safety brigades.
* supervise material provision for proper component handling.
* participate in training for production processes and equipment operation.
* receive training on each work station in the production area.
* ensure accurate production reporting in sap, including barcode posting, to prevent errors.
* assess staff talent development and identify training needs.
* hold meetings with staff to address security and operational issues.
* ensure 6's goals are met within the area.
* meet scrap reduction goals and implement related activities.
* request staff movements at least 48 hours in advance, with changes scheduled on fridays for the following week.
* engage in kaizen activities and cost-saving projects.
* follow responsibilities and authority as per ftm-ehs-12 and iso standards.
* comply with policies related to facility and divisional standards such as iatf 16949.
required education, experience, and knowledge
* bachelor's degree in manufacturing or industrial engineering, or equivalent experience in the automotive industry.
* at least one year of experience in manufacturing or process engineering within a production environment.
* automotive experience preferred.
* mandatory client-specific training (to be scheduled if not already completed).
* knowledge of core tools or problem-solving strategies.
* desired spc knowledge.
* yellow bto certification preferred.
* familiarity with i-mos system.
* intermediate to advanced office skills.
* basic msa knowledge.
* knowledge of measuring tools is desirable.
