We are seeking a detail-oriented, proactive hr specialist to support our human resources department at a dynamic and fast-paced law firm. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of hr functions, particularly in payroll, compensation administration, and project support. This position requires confidentiality, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently while maintaining a collaborative team spirit. This value extends to how we treat one another internally, fostering a supportive, respectful, and compassionate workplace.skills & qualificationsbilingual - english & spanish1–3 years of experience in an hr support role, preferably in a professional services or legal environment.familiarity with payroll and hris systems (e.g., wise, gustos) strongly preferred.strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skillshigh level of discretion with confidential and sensitive information.strong communication and interpersonal skillsproactive and results-orientedtime management and multitasking abilitiestech-savvy with experience using hr softwareexcellent customer service skillskey strengths:strong work ethic – demonstrates reliability, professionalism, and a positive attitude while exceeding expectations.initiative – proactively seeks opportunities and takes decisive action to drive results.attention to detail – maintains accuracy and compliance by following operational procedures and guidelines.key responsibilities1. Payroll administrationassist in the preparation and processing of bi-weekly payroll..ensure timekeeping records are accurate and submitted in a timely manner.coordinate with payroll vendors and resolve payroll discrepancies.maintain payroll files and related documentation in compliance with firm policies and legal requirements.2. Compensation supportprovide administrative support for annual salary reviews and bonus processes.assist in benchmarking and compiling compensation data for internal reporting.help ensure consistency and equity in compensation practices across departments.maintain up-to-date compensation records and support compliance audits. 3. Hr project supportparticipate in hr initiatives and special projects, including employee engagement and policy updates.support the implementation of hr systems and process improvements.assist with internal hr communications and document preparation.track progress and provide regular status updates on assigned projects.4. Employee records & compliancemaintain and update digital and personnel records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.assist in onboarding and offboarding processes, including creation of personnel files and exit interviews.ensure hr practices comply with applicable employment laws and firm policies.assist with hr reporting and compliance audits as required.5. General administrative supportrespond to team members' inquiries regarding hr policies, payroll, and benefits.schedule meetings, interviews, and training sessions for hr personnel.prepare hr-related documents such as employment letters, reports, and meeting minutes.support day-to-day operations of the hr department and collaborate with other administrative teams.
