Your job:
as the director of operations for our guadalajara plant, you will lead a 24-hour manufacturing operation and play a critical role in driving operational excellence while building a culture of innovation and transformation. You will be accountable for developing leaders, applying economic-based business management, and realizing a clear operational vision across key functions including smt, assembly operations (manual, semi-automatic, and fully automated), safety, product quality, materials, planning, and environmental systems.
our team:
you will lead plant operations leaders across manufacturing processes, the tool room, and materials management, partnering closely with key stakeholders across the campus. You will also collaborate with our design center and domestic/global operations teams to share best practices and strengthen performance across the enterprise.
what you will do:
1. coach, mentor, and develop plant operations leaders across all manufacturing processes, tool room, and materials management to achieve business objectives while managing variances and minimizing cost of poor quality.
2. embody and promote principle-based management (pbm) principles consistently, fostering a culture of accountability across the campus and global operations.
3. lead organizational change initiatives with respect and courage, ensuring smooth transitions and employee engagement.
4. embrace and drive operational excellence through the molex operating systems (mos) and leveraging digital transformation tools to improve processes.
5. partner with our design center and other domestic or global manufacturing operations to share knowledge and best practices on a regular basis.
6. lead operational performance by monitoring kpis and metrics, applying principle-based decision-making to meet targets.
7. identify talent gaps at both individual and organizational levels, coaching supervisors to develop skills and close performance gaps.
8. use performance data and economic analysis to prioritize and allocate resources effectively to maximize results.
9. champion continuous improvement efforts by challenging existing processes and driving cost-saving initiatives across the plant.
10. oversee all aspects of plant financial performance with full p&l accountability, ensuring achievement of revenue, cost, and profitability targets.
who you are (basic qualifications):
11. 5+ years of senior leadership experience leading large-scale operations in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
12. 5+ years of experience managing manufacturing, engineering, and/or technical teams.
13. demonstrated application of quality improvement methodologies (lean, six sigma, etc.) with experience leading process improvement projects.
14. strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and inspire teams at all levels.
15. prior automotive industry experience.
what will put you ahead:
16. demonstrated production knowledge in smt and assembly operations, plus p&l management experience.
17. prior experience within high-volume products manufacturing.
