Leads the safety efforts for regions through the design, administration, and enforcement of safety policies and programs for field operations, including vehicle, facility, dangerous goods, health, and ramp operations.
determines safety requirements and formulates plans and methods to improve employee safety in field operations, aiming to reduce costs, worker injuries, accidents, and property losses. Informs management about the status of safety activities addressing hazardous conditions.
identifies recurring issues such as vehicle accidents and employee injuries, recommending corrective actions to prevent unsafe operations. Collects, reviews, and analyzes accident reports and monitors trends in work injuries and vehicle accidents with management.
assesses the need for safety education for various skilled groups or employees based on operational analysis and survey reviews, designing programs to promote safe operating procedures.
ensures compliance with labor and safety laws of each country. Establishes safety committees in all locations with ten or more employees and provides safety training to new and existing employees.
investigates serious accidents involving property damage over us$2,000 and injuries, assisting with local health laws. Conducts safety audits of ramps, offices, and station operations.
represents the safety office at formal conferences to promote safety and develop safety standards and codes related to international field operations. Reviews facility plans and modifications to ensure safety standards are met.
requirements include a bachelor’s degree or equivalent, preferably with professional safety certification. At least six (6) years of professional experience in vehicle safety, dangerous goods, industrial and occupational safety, aircraft ramp safety, or fire prevention. Knowledge of country-specific safety regulations, investigative, analytical, and communication skills, and fluency in english are required.
