the opportunity:
as a principal business analyst, you will take ownership of business analysis activities of medium to high complexity, working closely with business stakeholders and technical delivery teams within the captivate planisware platform.
working closely with product management, product owners, and delivery teams, you will lead the end-to-end requirements lifecycle—from initial intake through delivery and closure. This includes configuration issues, data model changes, platform enhancements, and reporting fixes. You will validate user stories, drive functional testing, and own the closure process for delivered solutions, ensuring outcomes are fully aligned with business needs.
you will also maintain accurate and up-to-date requirements documentation, enabling consistent, efficient, and high-quality delivery across all request types.
responsibilities:
1. act as the primary functional interface between business stakeholders and technical delivery teams, ensuring requests are clearly understood, properly scoped, and aligned with business objectives.
2. own the review of configuration issues and data model changes, assessing functional dependencies and identifying technical complexity prior to governance approval.
3. own the full closure sequence for all gated request types, including functional testing against delivery requirements, coordination of end-user validation, formal sign-off, and communication to the requestor.
4. co-present enhancement requests to the product backlog review council alongside the requestor, providing functional clarity and well-defined scope to support prioritization decisions.
5. partner with the devops specialist on data model changes, reporting fixes, and integration enhancements, validating outputs across both the planisware platform and associated data pipelines.
6. bring experience with enterprise project management or ppm platforms—ideally planisware or comparable tools (e.g., clarity, workfront, sap ps).
7. execute functional testing and coordinate end-user validation activities.
8. operate effectively within a post-go-live or run-state support environment.
9. demonstrate familiarity with tiered support models and itsm concepts, including support queues and slas.
10. translate business requirements into delivery-ready user stories for technical teams.
11. identify and analyze business problems and requirements that drive organizational change.
12. develop business requirements that address both business challenges and opportunities.
13. collaborate closely with stakeholders to ensure proposed solutions meet their needs and expectations.
14. work independently on high-complexity business analysis tasks, delivering outputs aligned with company standards.
15. gather, analyze, and document software specifications and business requirements through discussions, workshops, interviews, and refinement sessions.
16. decompose business needs into clear specifications, including user stories and acceptance criteria.
17. manage multiple tasks simultaneously, demonstrating strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
18. communicate complex or sensitive information clearly and effectively to diverse audiences.
19. influence and persuade stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes.
skills and qualifications
must-have requirements
20. bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field, or equivalent work experience
21. 12+ years of experience in business analysis
22. 5+ years of experience in a lean/agile development environment
23. familiarity with agile tools (e.g., jira, confluence)
24. strong end-to-end business analysis skills: gathering, analyzing, and documenting business and system requirements
25. experience creating user stories and acceptance criteria
26. proficiency in sql and data analysis using excel (e.g., pivot tables, advanced formulas)
27. experience working across multiple systems and documenting data flows and system interactions
28. highly organized, with the ability to break down complex problems and prioritize effectively
29. strong stakeholder management and influencing skills
30. excellent written and verbal communication skills across all levels of the organization
31. fluency in english
nice-to-have requirements
32. experience in life sciences, healthcare, or the pharmaceutical industry (strongly preferred)
33. certification in business analysis (e.g., cbap, bcs, or similar)
34. familiarity or working knowledge of tools such as jira and qtest
