*job summary*forvia hella is seeking a highly skilled and experienced senior software engineer to participate in the development of software for our next-generation power distribution unit (pdu).
this role is critical to the success of our intelligent power distribution module (ipdm) programs, which feature efuse technology, fail-operational power supply, and zone-based architectures.
*your tasks*- drive the design, development, and testing of embedded software for pdu systems across the full product lifecycle.
- develop and maintain real-time embedded software using c for microcontrollers *-bit).
- implement model-based development using tools like matlab/simulink and dspace targetlink.
- collaborate with hardware engineers to integrate efuse technology and ensure robust power management.
- ensure compliance with autosar, and can bus protocols.
- conduct software architecture design, code reviews, and unit testing.
- analyze system requirements and translate them into software specifications.
- support diagnostics, data acquisition, and fail-operational mechanisms for safety-critical functions.
- mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical leadership within the team.
- interface with cross-functional teams including hardware, systems, and validation engineers.
*your qualifications*- bachelor's or master's degree in computer engineering, electrical engineering, mechatronics, or related field.
- 6+ years of experience in embedded software development, preferably in the automotive domain.
- strong proficiency in c, with experience in real-time systems, autosar, and embedded toolchains.
- experience with canoe, canalyzer, and other automotive communication tools.
- familiarity with efuse technology, power distribution systems, and zone controllers is a strong plus.
- knowledge of functional safety and software validation practices.
- excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
- fluent in english.
