The payroll accountant plays a crucial role in assisting with maintaining the financial health and integrity of the company.
Payroll reporting:
- adhere to accounting standards and regulations.
- generate payroll reporting for management and external stakeholders.
Budgeting & forecasting:
- assist in the development of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
- monitor budget variances and provide analysis.
Internal controls:
- establish and maintain internal control procedures to safeguard company assets.
- participate in periodic internal audits to ensure compliance.
Payroll:
- support accurate processing of bi-weekly or weekly payroll.
- ensure payroll taxes are compliant.
- participate and/or lead any payroll processing software or system upgrades.
- ensure alignment with payroll and accounting systems regarding gl transactions.
Month-end & year-end closing:
- coordinate with other departments to gather necessary payroll information.
- ensure year end and quarterly tax packages are accurate and on time.
- financial analysis:
- conduct ad hoc financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
- tax compliance:
- assist with tax planning and compliance.
- interface with various tax authorities to resolve any discrepancy.
- leadership:
- mentor employees to increase skillsets in a team environment.
- ad hoc projects:
- participate in special projects as assigned by the controller or cfo.
- contribute to process improvements and system implementations.

- multiple years of experience in payroll management.
- accounting background a plus.
- proficient in payroll analysis and budgeting.
- experience with erp and hris systems.
- netsuite experience a plus.
- adp experience a plus.
- ukg experience a plus.
- excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- must be fluent in american english.
- must be willing to be in the guadalajara offices on a regular basis.
- have, or qualify for a valid visa to travel to/from the us.
- attention to detail and accuracy.
- ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred education:
- bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
