maintenance and tpm manager
lead implementation/execution of the nestlé maintenance and tpm strategy for mx-veracruz factory. Build up the required capabilities and knowledge within the veracruz factory. Ensure people health and safety through the application of nestlé corporate engineering standards. Responsible for veracruz's maintenance performance and overall production line stability—world-class eups (estimated unplanned stoppages) and ps (planned stoppages) aiming to achieve ai (asset intensity) level above 85%.
responsible for maintenance compliance in veracruz factory by supporting, training, guiding and challenging engineers, coordinators and technicians. Develop maintenance people towards a world-class and digital manufacturing excellence. Ensure that all m&i activities improve the business objectives (safety, quality, performance and cost), with integrated management of assets under operation. Responsible for the definition and implementation of tpm/maintenance show case for nestlé mexico, starting with veracruz factory. Governance and leadership of pm pillar (planned maintenance pillar) and the maintenance digital transformation plan (e.g., predictive maintenance and other prioritized digital initiatives). Actively lead and build up the maintenance expertise (core network). Maintain a close interface with center experts (nptc, tcus and r&d) ensuring alignment with global maintenance (extended network).
responsibilities
* manage existing assets: ensure the organization implements the maintenance- and tpm-strategy based on business needs. Establish an organizational framework to deliver this management system. Put in place effective system of maintenance performance governance. Benchmark externally and internally across nestlé to identify opportunities to improve maintenance. Support development of new tools, systems, approaches, and leverage digital technologies to improve asset maintenance performance. Ensure effective knowledge management between factories and tcus; facilitate creation and sharing of good maintenance practices. Cooperate with procurement to drive cost-effective maintenance execution.
* optimise maintenance cost and deliver performance: demonstrate in-depth knowledge of maintenance cost components and drivers and their business impact. Manage and drive improvement of maintenance cost and unplanned stops through leadership and strategy deployment and execution. Apply a cost-benefit mindset and identify losses to eliminate them. Define and align maintenance priorities to support overall factory objectives. Challenge individuals and teams to identify opportunities for improvement. Understand how digital can enable cost-competitive maintenance. Evaluate maintenance indicators to support, challenge and mentor technical staff focusing on excellence in maintenance.
* operate, maintain and deliver industrialisation: apply nestlé maintenance strategy and pm pillar tools and methodologies; define and execute the factory strategy to meet business needs. Ensure maintenance strategy is applied across the factory (root cause analysis of breakdowns, pm03 optimization, evolution of autonomy). Establish effective management routines and coaching for maintenance and engineering compliance on the shop floor. Leverage digital as an enabler to improve reliability and costs. Deliver an asset maintenance program with a set of maintainable components and maintenance activities for each new asset. Develop the technical competencies required to support new assets prior to start-up. Define scope and approach of technical competencies to be developed in line operating teams. Lead the implementation of applicable standards and ensure adherence in the area of responsibility.
* manage risk and compliance: demonstrate knowledge of risk management principles and relevant regulations, nestlé policies, standards and guidelines. Manage risk through pdca processes to ensure ongoing compliance, safety of personnel and food safety. Ensure machinery and equipment are safe to operate and that the engineering team has competence in machinery safety. Manage the competence and behavior of engineering personnel and contractors to prevent compromises to safety.
* build engineering capability & leadership: provide technical leadership and mentoring to facilities maintenance staff and operations teams. Develop maintenance methodologies, competencies, and cbp (competence building plans) and skill matrix. Allocate maintenance resources for high-value activities and maximize knowledge transfer to operations with safety, quality and performance as priorities. Champion asset maintenance management with senior management to maintain high awareness and commitment.
profile / qualifications
* english advanced
* minimum experience 10 years in technical field, preferably in food/consumer goods industry
* experience in engineering management (maintenance, industrial, services, e&a), preferably related to fmcg manufacturing
* strong knowledge and experience in tpm
* participation in an m&i or factory engineering college
