The senior business development is responsible for driving commercial growth by identifying, developing, and securing new business opportunities within the freight forwarding sector, with a strong focus on air and/or ocean logistics. This role requires a strategic thinker with deep industry knowledge, capable of building long-term customer relationships and generating profitable revenue. The ideal candidate is a proactive, results-driven professional with strong negotiation skills and the ability to translate market insights into successful sales strategies
key responsibilities:
identify, pursue, and secure new clients in the air and ocean freight forwarding segments.
develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve revenue and margin targets.
manage the full sales cycle, including prospecting, presentations, pricing proposals, and contract negotiation.
expand the company's presence in key verticals aligned with market demand.
build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with customers, ensuring high satisfaction and retention.
act as a trusted advisor by understanding customers' supply chain needs and offering tailored solutions.
coordinate with operations and customer service teams to ensure successful onboarding and service execution.
work closely with air and ocean operations teams to ensure feasibility and profitability of proposed solutions.
provide accurate sales forecasts, pipeline updates, and performance reports to senior management.
support the development of marketing materials, sales tools, and promotional initiatives
requirements:
minimum 5 years of experience in business development or sales within the freight forwarding industry.
strong knowledge of air freight, ocean freight, and international logistics processes.
proven track record of achieving sales targets and generating profitable revenue.
experience with rfqs, tenders, and global supply chain accounts is highly preferred.
excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and handle multiple priorities.
proficiency in crm systems
bachelor's degree in international business, logistics, supply chain, or a related field (preferred).
english proficiency (advanced level preferred)
