You will be responsible for creating end-to-end design experiences—from research and ideation to prototyping and usability testing—while advocating for the needs of the users to deliver solutions that are not only functional but delightful and accessible. Additionally, you’ll partner with engineering to build a robust, scalable, and supportable design system that will be adaptable and flexible to our ever changing needs.
Reporting directly to the director of technical product management, this role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic, cross-functional team that’s dedicated to rethinking the future of wound care through innovative design and product development.
*key responsibilities*:

- *research & insights*:conduct user research, including interviews and usability testing, to gather insights that will guide the design process. Use both qualitative and quantitative data to inform design decisions and continuously improve the user experience. Conduct user journey mapping as needed to fuel informative design and product decisions.
- *collaboration*:work closely with product managers, engineers, and clinicians to understand user needs, refine ux requirements and needs, and deliver artifacts to the team as necessary.
- *design artifacts*:develop user journeys, wireframes, high-fidelity mockups, and interactive prototypes to communicate design concepts effectively to stakeholders.
- *iterative design process*:create and iterate on design solutions based on user feedback, testing results, and collaboration with cross-functional teams. Ensure that designs are user-friendly, efficient, and intuitive.
- *design systems & standards*:contribute to the development and maintenance of a design system to ensure consistency and scalability across the platform. Work closely with engineers to ensure designs are implemented accurately and efficiently.
- *accessibility & compliance*:ensure that all designs meet accessibility standards and comply with relevant healthcare regulations such as hipaa, ensuring usability for diverse user groups.
- *continuous improvement*:stay up-to-date on design best practices, industry trends, and new technologies. Contribute ideas for improving the product and the design process based on your knowledge and experience.
*what you’ll bring to the team*:
- *experience*:5+ years of experience as a ux designer, with a strong portfolio demonstrating your ability to create user-centered solutions for complex products. Prior experience in healthcare or regulated industries is a plus.
- *user-centered design*:a strong understanding of user-centered design principles and methodologies, with experience conducting user research and usability testing to inform product decisions.
- *collaboration & communication*:excellent collaboration and communication skills, with experience working closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, engineering, and clinical stakeholders.

- *healthcare knowledge*:familiarity with healthcare workflows, particularly in the context of electronic health records (ehrs), is highly preferred. Understanding of healthcare regulations (e.g., hipaa) and accessibility standards is essential.
- *visual design skills*:strong visual design sense, with the ability to create aesthetically pleasing, usable, and effective user interfaces that enhance the overall user experience.
- *adaptability & problem-solving*:ability to solve complex problems and navigate ambiguity while remaining flexible and adaptable to changes in requirements and project scope.
