payroll admin
the payroll administrator primarily works onsite, responsible for managing the time and attendance system and the payroll process for employees in mexico. This role ensures accuracy, regulatory compliance, and efficiency in all payroll transactions, including collection, processing, verification of attendance and payroll data, salary calculations, tax deductions, and overtime, along with report generation and employee inquiry handling.
this role is responsible for:
1. time and attendance system management: administer and maintain the system, ensuring data integrity.
2. support front line leaders: assist in accurate reporting of attendance events before cutoff times.
3. attendance data collection and processing: collect and review attendance records in accordance with company policies.
4. validation of attendance incidents: correct attendance discrepancies and request justifications.
5. integration with payroll: ensure attendance data accurately feeds into payroll calculations.
6. payroll processing: collect and review payroll data related to hires, terminations, and changes.
7. salary and overtime calculation: calculate wages, overtime, bonuses, and commissions per mexican law and company policies.
8. tax and deduction management: calculate and withhold income taxes and other legal deductions.
9. payments and deductions: process deductions and ensure timely payroll payments.
10. payroll slip generation: distribute clear and accurate payroll slips.
11. reporting: prepare payroll and attendance reports for management and compliance.
12. reconciliation: reconcile payroll records with accounting and banking data.
13. regulatory compliance: stay updated and ensure compliance with mexican labor and tax laws.
14. employee case management: respond to payroll and attendance inquiries professionally.
15. record keeping: maintain confidential payroll and attendance records.
16. audit support: assist in payroll and attendance audits.
17. project participation: contribute to system and process improvement projects.
qualifications
* bachelor’s degree in public accounting, business administration, human resources, or related field.
* at least 2 years of payroll and attendance management experience in mexico.
* thorough knowledge of mexican payroll, tax, and labor laws.
* experience with payroll processing and management systems (preferably workday or similar erp).
* proficiency in microsoft office, especially excel.
* strong attention to detail and calculation skills, including overtime under mexican law.
* ability to handle confidential information ethically.
* excellent communication skills.
* problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
* strong organizational and time management skills.
