oversee the financial operations of our juarez, mexico facility.
this role is critical in ensuring compliance with mexican tax regulations, supporting maquiladora operations, and managing cross-border financial activities.
*key responsibilities*:
1. Financial oversight and internal controls:
- develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with both local and international financial regulations.
- ensure accurate and timely financial reporting for both mexican operations and us headquarters.
2. Cost accounting and budget management:
- oversee cost accounting, including tracking production costs, inventory valuation, and variance analysis.
- prepare budgets, forecasts, and financial performance analyses to support business objectives.
3. Mexican tax compliance and reporting support:
- provide accurate financial data and supporting documentation to external advisors for the preparation of tax filings, including:
- vat (iva) reports, income tax (isr) calculations and immex program compliance
- ensure timely responses to requests from servicio de administración tributaria (sat) during audits or reviews.
- collaborate with external tax advisors to align with local tax requirements and maintain compliance.
4. Maquiladora operations and immex compliance:
- support immex program reporting requirements, including inventory control, import/export documentation, and vat certification.
5. Us and cross-border financial coordination:
- provide financial reports and analyses to support cross-border operations and decision-making.
- align financial reporting practices with both us gaap and mexican compliance requirements.
6. Audit coordination:
- prepare and provide documentation to support external audits conducted by sat, immex program reviewers, and corporate auditors.
7. Collaboration and leadership
experiência y requisitos
- bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
cpa or equivalent certification is a plus.
- minimum of 7 years of experience in financial management, with 3+ years in maquiladora or cross-border operations.
- strong understanding of mexican tax regulations, specifically immex and maquiladora.
- experience working with us-based companies and coordinating financial reporting with corporate headquarters.
- proficiency in financial systems and erp platforms.
- fluent in english and spanish, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- proven ability to manage complex financial operations in a manufacturing or maquiladora environment.
