about this opportunity: we're building our talent pipeline for future supply chain assistant roles at proyx. While we don't have an immediate opening, we're actively identifying exceptional candidates who align with our unique approach to embedded procurement excellence. Why join our talent pool? When the right project emerges, we move quickly. Being in our pipeline means you're first in line when we need someone with your skills.
proyx is the embedded procurement team that transforms how growing manufacturers handle their supply chains. Our clients face the procurement paradox: massive value trapped by limited capacity. We solve this by becoming their procurement department handling the daily chaos whilst building systems that deliver 8-15% savings and 3-8x roi. As a supply chain assistant, you'd be embedded with our clients, handling real procurement operations: daily reality:
* chase suppliers (yes, dave from derby who's always late)
* track orders and expedite deliveries
* update procurement systems and maintain data accuracy
* support negotiations and supplier communications
* identify patterns that prevent tomorrow's problems
monthly evolution:
* contribute to supplier performance reviews
* help implement process improvements
* support strategic sourcing initiatives
* build relationships that make suppliers behave
who thrives at proyx:
* 1-3 years in procurement, supply chain, or operations
* comfortable with chaos (and turning it into order)
* clear communication skills (suppliers need to understand you)
* detail-oriented without losing the big picture
brilliant to have:
* manufacturing or industrial sector experience
* erp system knowledge (sap, netsuite, oracle)
* experience with supplier negotiations
* natural problem-solver who enjoys fixing things
the right mindset:
* you'd rather solve problems than analyze them
* "good enough today" beats "perfect next month"
* you find satisfaction in operational excellence
* you're curious about how businesses actually work
what makes proyx different: ✓ real work, real impact: you'll handle actual procurement, not theoretical projects ✓ embedded model: work directly with client teams, not from an ivory tower ✓ growth through doing: learn from experienced practitioners, not training videos ✓ variety: different clients, industries, and challenges keep it interesting ✓ british directness: we say what we mean, value competence over politics
not actively looking? Perfect. The best candidates rarely are. Join our pipeline and we'll reach out when the right opportunity emerges. Ready now? Even better. We may have projects starting sooner than advertised.
to apply: send your cv and a brief note about why procurement excites you (or frustrates you—we get it). Tell us about a time you fixed something that was broken, not just analyzed it.
