Forvis Mazars is seeking a Federal Tax Manager to join our rapidly growing Tax practice in Guadalajara!
The primary goal of a Federal Tax Manager is to deliver high-quality federal tax compliance and advisory services to our clients across diverse industries, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strategic value creation.
This is achieved by:
- Managing the preparation, review, and filing of federal tax returns and obligations under the Mexican Tax Regulations: Ley del Impuesto Sobre la Renta (LISR), Ley del IVA, and Código Fiscal de la Federación (CFF).
- Leading tax compliance and advisory engagements for clients in multiple industries.
- Guiding clients through SAT reviews, audits, and requests, minimizing risk and ensuring full compliance.
- Designing efficient tax strategies aligned with clients' business goals and the current Mexican regulatory framework.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the preparation, review, and filing of monthly and annual federal tax returns (ISR, IVA, DIOT, and other obligations).
- Supervise compliance with electronic accounting, CFDI issuance, and SAT reporting requirements.
- Conduct tax reviews and provide advisory on federal tax matters, including restructurings and special regimes.
- Lead tax audits and respond to SAT information requests.
- Research and interpret tax legislation, administrative criteria, and resolutions to support clients' positions.
- Prepare technical memoranda and present findings to clients and firm leadership.
- Manage engagement budgets, deadlines, and quality standards.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop junior tax professionals, ensuring high-quality deliverables and collaboration.
Qualification Preferences
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
- 7–10 years of experience in federal tax compliance and consulting, preferably in a professional services firm.
- Strong technical expertise in LISR, LIVA, CFF, and related SAT obligations.
- Proficiency in CONTPAQi, SAT systems (DIM, DEM, DIOT), and Excel.
- Experience managing tax audits and advisory projects with multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent communication skills in both English and Spanish.
