role overview
we are seeking an experienced and dynamic senior accountant with the ability to effectively lead cross‑functional tasks and manage diverse projects within the latam region.
the regional senior accountant plays a critical role in ensuring the financial health and compliance of the organization across multiple locations within the assigned region. This position is responsible for overseeing and managing the accounting operations, financial reporting, and compliance with us gaap and regulatory standards. The regional senior accountant will collaborate closely with regional leadership, finance teams, and other stakeholders to provide accurate financial insights, support strategic decision‑making, and ensure the integrity of financial processes.

key responsibilities include preparing and analyzing financial statements, managing month‑end and year‑end closing processes, ensuring adherence to internal controls and corporate policies, and supporting audits and tax compliance. The role also involves identifying opportunities for process improvements, mentoring junior accounting staff, and contributing to the development of financial strategies that align with the organization’s goals.

* executive and strategic accounting partner to the latin america controllers and cfos and regional cfo.
* strong relationship with global accounting leaders, and functional leadership across latam – including but not limited to it, hr, operations, legal and compliance
* corporate finance, tax and treasury
major responsibilities
* actively involved with the latam accounting teams in the financial close process, strategic projects, and various operational improvement & centralization initiatives
* actively participate in the ongoing implementation of corporate financial systems in the region (jd edwards gl/ap, circulus ap, concur t&e, kyriba treasury) as well as the future implementation of a new brokerage platform
* drive cross‑functional initiatives and serve as a liaison between corporate and regional teams
* ensure adherence to us gaap and corporate close timelines and policies, while also meeting local regulatory requirements
* liaise with global accounting and audit teams to ensure compliance with internal and external audit requirements
* deliver evaluations and projects on time, within agreed budget, and in accordance with the expectations of the global accounting team.

about you
* bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university in accounting or finance.
* 6 to 10 years of work experience in public accounting and/or industry, including supervisory experience.
* language proficiency in english and spanish; portuguese strongly preferred.
* strong knowledge of us gaap and ifrs accounting.
* experience with finance and/or insurance industry is strongly preferred.
* experience with financial systems implementations; jd edwards and concur experience strongly preferred.
* experience with offshore functional reporting support beneficial.
