Responsibilities:
* maintain a safe and secure workspace and environment.
* develop and implement maintenance programs for equipment, including improvements to existing automation in mechanical assembly, machining, and inspection processes.
* manage equipment purchase and installation.
* provide technical support to the assigned team.
* develop systems and layouts aligned with lean manufacturing philosophies such as one-piece flow and kanban, emphasizing mistake proofing.
* arrange for maintenance of adequate spare parts to prevent operational interruptions due to shortages.
* provide training and guidance to all employee levels on the operation and maintenance of new equipment.
* initiate, review, master, and follow all standard operating procedures (sops) for the area of responsibility.
* coordinate the execution of equipment strategies for assets involved with high hazard processes, including containment, control, or safeguarding.
* meet and drive equipment oee and uptime goals.
* collaborate with process engineering to improve rty, fpy, and scrap metrics.
* ensure strategies are in place for asset end-of-life, obsolescence, and replacement, without compromising performance or cost competitiveness, and keep stakeholders informed for capital planning.
qualifications:
* maintenance and/or automation supervisor with 3-5 years of experience.
* experience managing or supervising technical teams, contractors, or third parties.
* knowledge of lean manufacturing practices such as kanban, poke-yoke, jit, and value stream mapping.
* strong project management skills.
* understanding of plcs, low voltage controls, three-phase power distribution, and vision systems.
* knowledge of electronic sensors, pneumatics, hydraulics, and robotics.
* design and application knowledge of ergonomic and machine safety standards.
* proficiency in autocad, solidworks, and ms office suite.
* strong written and verbal communication skills.
