role description: this is a full-time role for a medical doctor specializing in patient follow-up care at immunocine cancer center. The medical doctor will be responsible for providing comprehensive post-treatment care and monitoring for patients who have completed the immunocine dendritic cell treatment (idct) protocol and returned to their home countries. This position focuses on maintaining continuity of care through regular follow-up communications, lab review, and ongoing patient support over a 3+ month period following treatment (with continued responsiveness ongoing). The role requires a compassionate, relational approach combined with strong medical expertise to guide patients through their recovery journey and coordinate care with our remote nursing and oncology teams.
key responsibilities
* conduct regular follow-up calls with patients for 3+ months post-treatment
* review and interpret ongoing laboratory results and oncology reports
* provide guidance on potential side effects and post-treatment expectations
* advise patients on optimal timing for potential booster treatments
* collaborate effectively with our remote teams
* escalate complex medical concerns to appropriate specialists as needed
* communicate with patients' local physicians when requested
* maintain detailed patient records and treatment documentation
* support patients emotionally and medically during their recovery process
qualifications
* medical degree and relevant certifications
* excellent bedside manner with exceptional patient communication skills
* strong medical knowledge and clinical assessment abilities
* fluency in english (required for international patient communication)
* compassionate and understanding approach to patient care
* strong relational and interpersonal skills
* experience working in remote/telemedicine environments preferred
* ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary remote teams
* detail-oriented with excellent documentation skills
* knowledge of oncology regulations and clinical processes
* experience in oncology or immunotherapy is a plus
* experience in patient follow-up care or chronic disease management is a plus
* comfortable with technology platforms for remote patient communication
