*summary*:
*essential duties and responsibilities*:
- *collect and enter production performance data*, including cycle times, throughput, and downtime, into tracking systems or spreadsheet
- *input and maintain accurate records of daily production output* across multiple lines or work centers
- *record and categorize scrap and rework data*, tagging by product, station, or reason code for later analysis
- *track and log failure rates*, including part rejects and process deviations, to support root cause investigations
- *ensure consistency and accuracy of key metrics*, including first pass yield, take time, and utilization rates
- *support the preparation of reports and dashboards* summarizing production trends, line performance, and quality indicators
- *identify data gaps or anomalies* in cycle time or scrap reporting and work with supervisors or engineers to resolve them
- *help update visual management tools* (e.g., hour-by-hour boards, digital production dashboards) using collected data
- *perform basic analysis such as averages, trends, and comparisons* to support decision-making and continuous improvement efforts
- *collaborate with production and quality teams* to ensure timely and accurate capture of scrap and failure data
- *maintain logs and documentation* required for audits, production reviews, or quality investigations
*qualifications*:
- bachelor's degree in a technical field such as industrial engineering, data science, statistics, manufacturing technology, or related discipline; equivalent experience will also be considered
- 0-2 years of experience in a data entry, data analysis, or manufacturing operations role
- proficiency in microsoft excel (pivot tables, formulas, basic charts)
- familiarity with sql for querying production databases
- ability to write basic scripts in python for data cleaning, transformation, or automation
- strong attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy
- excellent organizational and documentation skills
- ability to communicate clearly with cross-functional teams, including production operators and engineers
- comfortable working on-site in a factory environment and interacting directly with manufacturing systems and teams
- *bilingual in english and spanish*
*preferred skills*:
- experience building reports or dashboards in power bi, tableau, or similar tools
- understanding of lean manufacturing concepts or six sigma terminology (e.g., takt time, first pass yield, root cause analysis)
- familiarity with erp systems (e.g., microsoft dynamics business central, sap, netsuite)
- experience working with mes (manufacturing execution systems) or production tracking software
- ability to interpret and visualize trends in cycle times, scrap, or throughput to support operations improvement
- interest in automation or scripting to improve repetitive reporting tasks
