role description
rockwater is seeking an experienced in-house fiscal accountant to manage and oversee all fiscal, tax, and statutory accounting matters for our real estate development operations in mexico.
key responsibilities
* manage fiscal accounting in compliance with mexican tax law and sat requirements (cfdi 4.0, iva, isr, retenciones).
* prepare and support monthly and annual tax filings across multiple entities and development projects.
* ensure proper fiscal treatment of development and construction costs, capitalisation, and intercompany transactions.
* support corporate accounting and capitalisation tracking, including equity contributions, shareholder loans, and intercompany funding.
* oversee construction-related compliance, including siroc, imss, and repse.
* support payroll tax compliance (isr nómina, imss, infonavit).
* supervise invoicing, expense control, cfdi issuance, and maintain clean, auditable accounting records.
* support directors and project managers with budgeting, cost control, cash-flow tracking, and internal reporting.
* prepare accounting and fiscal information required by banks and support banking processes.
* coordinate day-to-day work with external accountants, tax advisors, auditors, payroll providers, and repse-related service firms.
qualifications
* licensed contador público (required).
* bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
* strong, hands-on knowledge of mexican accounting, tax, social security, and subcontracting regulations (sat, imss, siroc, repse).
* experience in real estate development, construction, or project-based accounting.
* experience working within multi-entity corporate structures.
* close attention to detail, strong organisation, and execution focus.
* sound professional judgment and discretion when handling sensitive fiscal, banking, and corporate information.
* comfortable operating within structured reporting, controls, and audit-ready environments.
* fluent in spanish and english.
