role at banamex. The regulatory risk group manager is accountable for management of complex/critical/large professional disciplinary areas. Leads and directs a team of professionals. Requires a comprehensive understanding of multiple areas within a function and how they interact in order to achieve the objectives of the function. Strong commercial awareness and excellent communication skills are required to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Accountable for the end results of an area and for the delivery of a full range of services to one or more businesses/geographic regions. This position covers model validation activities and related governance responsibilities.
responsibilities
* provide risk strategic analytics and information management across citibank products; communicate implications of existing and proposed regulation to executive management. Regulatory considerations include basel ii/iii, mifid, u.s. Fed, treasury, fdic and other central banks/regulators.
* regulatory risk project management ownership (business requirements, analysis and testing) for regulatory solutions (e.g., cecl, part 30 core capabilities, stress testing and ccar).
* analyze new risk-related guidelines, standards, rules and regulations; direct approach to addressing regulator/audit inquiries with risk functions as needed.
* manage portfolio risk review deliverables; rationalize end user computing (eucs) used for portfolio risk reviews.
* interact with senior bank and risk management colleagues and external stakeholders such as regulators and auditors.
* initiate feedback with clients to identify strengths and focus areas; use feedback to influence changes across the organization.
* identify and sponsor development opportunities for key individuals; influence organizational initiatives to develop talent and ensure a diverse talent pipeline; recruit and develop top talent.
* assess risk in business decisions, safeguard the firm, ensure compliance with laws and regulations, and escalate/control issues with transparency; supervise and hold others accountable to standards.
qualifications
* 10+ years relevant experience
* excellent proficiency in microsoft office (excel for metrics/data analysis, powerpoint for decks, word for documentation)
* broad understanding of credit policies and collateral management; familiarity with financial and risk reporting
* familiarity with regulatory landscape for global banks; experience in banking regulators or financial institutions preferred
* experience managing regulatory inspections and audits
* strong interaction skills with senior management and regulators
* project management experience with diverse stakeholder groups
* proven relationship management across business, executive leadership, and support areas (government affairs, legal, compliance, risk, etc.)
* experience developing project plans and managing multiple large-scale projects from ideation to implementation
* licensing/registration: series 4, 7, 9, 10, 24, 63, 65
education
* bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred
