Job summary:
the plant director is responsible for leading and directing all plant operations to meet performance goals through effective management, delegation, and mentoring of departmental managers.
main responsibilities:
* policy administration: determine and administer all plant policies, ensuring consistency with overall corporate policies.
* purchase recommendations: recommend and approve major purchases of equipment, material, and supplies for the facility.
* operational efficiency: review capital, expenses, and material/facility usage to ensure cost-effective operation.
* budget preparation: provide direction and coordinate preparation of the plant budget.
* annual goals: determine annual goals and objectives for departments consistent with meeting business plan/metrics.
* performance analysis: analyze performance to target and implement actions to maximize results.
culture and teamwork:
foster a continuous improvement culture and lead team-based operations. Lead safety and environmental efforts. Ensure quality standards are implemented and met. Work with sales and product management to optimize customer relations and plant productivity.
