Job DescriptionThe IT Senior Auditor is responsible for executing and leading audits of information technology systems, processes, and controls.
This role involves planning, overseeing, and completing audit assignments efficiently, identifying and evaluating risks, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
The IT Auditor works collaboratively with audit teams and stakeholders, contributes to departmental initiatives, and supports a positive, productive work environment.ResponsibilitiesExecute/lead an audit, including planning and oversight, with supervision from the Manager, AVP, or VP, while meeting the audit schedule.Establish timelines and objectives for completing the audit when performing in an in-charge capacityIdentify control weaknesses, regulatory compliance issues, and other areas of riskDevelop and/or supervise the development of design flows, risk assessments, workpapers, audit findings, and audit reports with supervision from the AIC or managementComplete audit assignments in an efficient and timely manner (i.e., by the budgeted/estimated dates and provide updates to in-charge/management as needed)When acting as the AIC, direct and review work of auditors, demonstrating effective leadership skills on a continuous basis, including discussion of performance development opportunities with staff as necessary, in accordance with departmental policy, with limited coaching from AVP or VPMonitor the implementation status of Management Action Plans according to established methodologyComplete issue validation testing using established methodology and within timeline for assigned audit issuesRecommend and implement enhancements to audit tools and proceduresPresent Audit findings to management with limited assistance from Manager, AVP, or VPPerform leadership roles and other duties as needed to accomplish departmental objectivesParticipate on Internal Audit or enterprise projectsPromote a cooperative and productive work environment and build effective working relationships with audit clientsQualificationsFluent English Skills (will be evaluated during interviews and this role reports into US)Good understanding of business functions and information technology processes, risks, and controlsGood understanding of industry frameworks, such as COBIT, COSO, and/or ITILWorking knowledge of internal audit standards and generally accepted auditing practicesAbility to effectively lead, organize, and supervise the audit staffAbility to exercise professional, rational, and sound judgmentAbility to work independently and as a member of a cross-functional and cross-geographical global teamAbility to understand, document, and explain complex processes and informationAbility to identify risks, control activities, and control gapsAbility to manage time and meet deadlines, work with management to prioritize tasks when neededAbility to offer knowledgeable advice to management that is specific and practical for the GM Financial environmentStrong analytical skillsDetailed orientedExcellent communication, written, and verbal skillsStrong computer application skills in Microsoft Office applications and Flowcharting softwareAbility to learn/use tools and applications; such as ACL, Arbutus, Oracle ERP, SharePoint, etc.Professional skepticismSelf motivated; can demonstrate intellectual curiosityCISA, CISSP, CIA, CCP, or CPASubject to stressful situationsStrong focus on providing quality service to internal and external customersFlexible schedule with possibility of working long hours or split shifts may be required during projects or month end reporting.Work Experience3-5 years experience in the field of Information Technology auditEducation- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems (IS), Business Administration or any other related fieldMaster's Degree is a plusLimited travel may be required to support business needs, potentially including international travelGM Financial is an Equal Opportunity Employer and is committed to diversity and inclusion at every level of our organization.
