We are seeking an experienced tax manager to lead and ensure full compliance with mexican tax obligations while supporting a multinational organization with operations in mexico and cross-border activities. This role will report directly to the finance director in mexico, with a dotted-line reporting relationship to corporate tax in the united states.the tax manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of mexican tax compliance, including annual tax returns, provisional tax payments, vat, payroll-related taxes, profit sharing (ptu), and regulatory obligations such as repse. The role will also support international operations and cross-border transactions, ensuring proper tax treatment, documentation, and alignment with u.s. corporate tax policies. This position plays a critical role in managing tax risk, ensuring timely and accurate filings, and acting as the primary point of contact with tax authorities, external advisors, and corporate tax teams. Key responsibilities: ensure full compliance with all mexican tax obligations, including annual tax returns, provisional income tax payments, vat filings, payroll tax withholdings, and other local tax requirements. Manage and oversee compliance related to repse and other labor-related tax and regulatory obligations. Calculate and oversee ptu (employee profit sharing) in accordance with mexican tax and labor regulations. Review and ensure accurate tax withholdings, including income tax and vat, in compliance with applicable laws. Support and review the tax treatment of cross-border transactions and international operations, ensuring alignment with mexican regulations and u.s. corporate tax policies. Act as the primary liaison with mexican tax authorities (sat) and manage tax audits, reviews, and information requests. Coordinate with external tax advisors and consultants to ensure accurate and timely compliance and advisory support. Prepare tax analysis, reports, and documentation for the finance director in mexico and corporate tax teams in the u.s. Monitor changes in mexican tax legislation and assess their impact on the business, providing timely guidance to finance and operational teams. Support tax planning initiatives and risk assessments in coordination with corporate tax leadership. Ensure proper tax documentation, controls, and processes are in place to support internal and external audits. Qualifications: bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; master's degree or tax specialization is a plus. 8–12 years of progressive experience in tax roles, with strong expertise in mexican tax compliance within multinational organizations. Proven experience reporting to or working closely with u.s.-based corporate tax teams in a dotted-line structure. In-depth knowledge of mexican tax regulations, including income tax, vat, payroll taxes, tax withholdings, ptu, and repse. Experience supporting international operations and cross-border transactions. Strong understanding of tax compliance processes, controls, and audit management. Professional proficiency in spanish and english (written and verbal) is required. Ability to work collaboratively with finance, legal, hr, and operational teams, both locally and internationally. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple deadlines in a dynamic environment. Experience working with erp systems and tax reporting tools; advanced excel skills required.
