- negotiate with suppliers to obtain goods, materials, and services at the best prices by using sourcing strategies and extensive knowledge of their commodity industry. - develop strategies to guarantee materials and services supply on time for an effective facility operation (lead time reduction, cost saving, dual sourcing, etc.). - sourcing suppliers and maintaining long-lasting relationships with them as well as existing suppliers. - implementing inventory optimization strategies within the company. - obtaining quotes from different suppliers. - negotiating price, quantity, and delivery schedules with suppliers. - working with legal counsel to ensure that all contracts relating to product procurement contain all details of the negotiation. - assessing quotes and compiling a detailed assessment of cost breakdowns. - generating quote comparisons and contributing to internal supplier selection based on the quotes. - providing solutions to improve company spending and outsourcing.
Experiência y requisitos
education/certifications - bachelor’s degree in administration, industrial engineer, logistics, supply chain or related field. - english 80% mandatory - proficient on microsoft project management (certification is a plus). - certification in apics and/or ism is desired. Experience: - 3-5 years of experience or equivalent in the sourcing or supply chain department. - minimum of 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment (electronic environment is a plus). - proven experience in sourcing processes and projects. o cost reduction. o source relocation. o second source. o supplier development. - proficiency in microsoft word, powerpoint, excel, and outlook. - commodity management. - supplier management. - a thorough understanding of sourcing methodologies. - strong negotiation skills. - sound time-management and organizational skills. - proven work experience as a sourcing specialist, commodity buyer or similar role.
