we are seeking the best talent for customs technician senior (temporal 12 meses) in ciudad juarez, mexico.
duties & responsibilities
* process import/export documents complying with mexican and us customs requirements.
* coordinate local traffic.
* prepare customs reports as required.
* file all customs-related documents.
* adhere to internal customs department procedures.
* participate in activities to improve internal controls related to international operations.
* follow safety policies and environmental responsibilities.
* ensure compliance with company policies and local, state, and federal regulations.
* manage records according to j&j policies.
* release import/export inspections from mexican customs when needed.
* research machinery, equipment, and tools to ensure customs compliance.
* control and follow up on documents supporting merchandise origin and nafta classification.
* process mx import permits.
* support fda inspections and procurement of supplies.
* participate in internal customs forecasting and financial analysis.
* update merchandise/articles in customs system.
* communicate business issues or opportunities to management.
* if supervising staff, ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies.
* perform additional duties as assigned.
requirements:
* high school diploma required; customs technical education or equivalent preferred.
* 4-6 years of experience or equivalent knowledge; college coursework in related fields desirable.
* bilingual in english and spanish.
* knowledge of gmp/iso, customs practices, immex, and related software.
* customer service skills, communication skills, proactive attitude, judgment, decision-making, teamwork, accuracy, and proficiency in microsoft office.
