The station duty manager is responsible for the safety, security, service delivery, and aircraft ground handling processes at their station for air france (cargo) and/or klm, as well as for third parties where applicable, during their shift.

main responsibilities:
the station duty manager coordinates and supervises all flight activities—either directly (in the case of self-handling) or by working closely with agents and specialized service providers—to ensure a timely, safe, and efficient ground handling process in line with the company's quality, security, and safety standards:
1.- optimize handling processes
proactively gathers and disseminates information regarding planned ground handling operations, providing daily briefings to all relevant parties in accordance with company safety, security, and quality standards.
oversees and coordinates ground handling activities with specialized service providers to ensure punctual and optimized ground handling.
manages flight disruptions in cooperation with occ/cco, local authorities, slot management, external providers, maintenance, catering, and cargo. Responsible for all service and delay recovery activities in case of flight irregularities or diversions, in close coordination with the station manager. Ensures all relevant communication groups are updated accordingly.
prepares and distributes weekly flight handling reports to the station manager.
2.- administrative tasks
follow up on incident reports by initiating and monitoring corrective actions, both internally and externally.
ensures completion of mandatory audits and inspections.
assists the station manager with delegated tasks as required.
verifies that the training and qualifications of service providers assigned to our flights comply with local and company regulations.
distributes and tracks relevant documents and bulletins in line with company directives.
arranges all necessary permits, slots, and ground handling arrangements for the airline, and third-party flights to/from mexican territory.
monitors the knowledge and competence of providers handling our flights, coordinating or delivering training sessions as needed on our process and programes.
ensures timely follow-up and compliance with local training requirements, surveys, communications, declarations, and acknowledgments.
3.- flight safety
observes services provided by third parties both above and below wing, ensuring full compliance with company safety and security regulations, and proactively reports any deviations.
promotes, implements, and maintains the safety awareness program at the station and with suppliers, in line with the safety management system.
ensures the correct compilation and secure storage of flight files in accordance with local and company regulations.
coordinates all crew-related matters, such as transportation and timely response in cases of crew illness.
manages slot requests, delay letters, and overflight permissions as necessary.
ensure catering orders are appropriately supplied to avoid over-provisioning for each flight.
implements facilities (including handling, communication, and signage) for clients during irregular operations.
reports all flight safety and security incidents to superiors on a daily basis.

job-requirements and qualifications:
in-depth knowledge of all ground operations and handling processes, including check-in, boarding, ramp operations, baggage handling, safety, and security.
strong understanding of airport infrastructure and relevant governmental authorities.
proven ability to perform effectively under pressure while maintaining a calm and professional demeanor with customers and service providers.
excellent verbal and written communication skills in both spanish and english; proficiency in french and/or dutch is an asset.
demonstrated leadership abilities, with experience managing diverse teams in an operational environment.
skilled in people development, providing constructive feedback, and conducting effective team conversations.
availability to travel regularly to other stations within the country.
