Job Summary
The HR Generalist - North America performs Human Resources related duties at the professional level within the HR Service Delivery platform, supporting multiple businesses within North America or Latin America. Functional areas of responsibility include mergers & acquisitions, workforce transformation and reorganization, organization design, job level structuring, salary analysis, affirmative action support (NA only), employment equity programs and compliance. English fluency is required.
Responsibilities
- Take ownership of escalated queries from Tier 1 & 2 through ServiceNow cases.
- Partner effectively with HRBPs, CoEs, and People Leaders to offer proactive support and propose solutions for various programs of work, including BAU, organization transformation, and new initiatives such as M&A.;
- Support and partner during annual CoE cycles (Goal Setting, Talent Management processes, IM Listening action planning) by providing coaching, reporting, data insights, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate closely with employees, managers, and CoE teams to deliver customer‑centric solutions aligned with business strategies.
- Leverage the HR community to identify optimization opportunities for the HR function and the HR service delivery model.
- Address urgent employee and manager needs and provide people‑management coaching.
- Communicate HR policies, procedures, laws, standards and regulations to employees and management.
- Conduct exit interviews, analyze data, and recommend improvements for organizational redesign, position leveling, and compensation analysis.
- Participate in HR task forces and corporate project teams.
- Partner with compensation to conduct and implement salary surveys.
- Organize and participate in employee roundtable meetings.
Skills & Competencies

Qualifications
- 5+ years progressive experience in HR with demonstrated functional knowledge.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken).
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Desired experience supporting North America or Latin America depending on region of recruitment.
- Proactively manage customer relationships.
- Curious and asks questions to understand business value.
- Willing to push back when necessary.
- Effective decision‑making in high‑pressure, fast‑paced situations.
- Comfort with change and shifting priorities.
- Strong analysis and problem‑solving skills, root‑cause analysis.
- Experience supporting leaders and employees in a union environment a plus.
- Comfortable working in a virtual environment.
