*the opportunity*:
work as staff/senior on multiple workstreams for middle and back-office functions for an asset management client.
Position responsibilities:
- interact with the pricing vendors to price securities
- communicate daily inquiries to appropriate internal departments
- monitor and data mine the daily pricing for anomalies and potential issues
- perform deep dives on issues related to securities pricing and methodology
- issue price challenges
- interact with portfolio managers as an internal consultant
- interact with internal and external audit teams
- audit internal processes, identify and mitigate risks, and develop and enhance controls
- develop reports and presentations for funds, the boards, legal, and portfolio management
- maintain current knowledge of domestic and foreign securities markets and monitor effects on funds, pricing, and valuation procedures
- manage various projects related to process improvements, procedures, and systems development
position requirements
- minimum of a bachelor's degree, preferably in a quantitative field
- minimum 3 years of experience in security valuation and mutual fund operations
- experience working with trading desk and portfolio managers
- market data knowledge from working with providers of financial data, such as bloomberg, thomson reuters, intex, and others
- experience working with business intelligence reporting tools and dashboards, such as powerbi (preferred) or other platforms
- advanced excel/vba, sql, python, strongly preferred
- exceptional accuracy and attention to detail
preferred qualifications
- advanced degree in accounting, finance, mathematics, statistics, engineering, economics
- ca, cpa or cfa designation
- experience with mutual fund governance and fund boards
- experience working with business analysis and project management
